Climate can have a marked effect on the drying of the skin and hair especially in an inner city environment with its associated pollutants. Black Hair has a higher potential risk factor because of its natural configuration and the lack od humidity in British climate.

Hair problems commonly seen at the Clinic include:

  • Hair breakage
  • Hair thinning
  • Frontal and Occipital Alopecia
  • Chemical and Thermal damage
  • Progressive Alopecias
  • Alopecia Areata, Androgenic Alopecia, Telogen Effluvium, Traction Alopecia etc.

Scalp problems commonly seen at the Clinic include :

  • Non-inflammatory conditions such as dry /scalp, cicatricial damage, neurodermatitis etc.
  • Inflammatory conditions like Allergic Contact Dermatitis, Secondary Infected Allergic Reactions, Folliculitis, Acne Cheloidalis, Bacterial infections of the Scalp
  • Scarring conditions such as Trichotillomania and Keloids

Specialist advice should be sought as soon as any abnormal Scalp or Hair condition arises and before an irreversible situation takes place.

Ignoring symptoms will have a cumulative effect and so compound the problems. Once established, Black Hair problems tend to be progresseive and the resultant cosmetic effect can eventually be very distressing unless expert advice is sought early.

Scalp disorders left untreated may result in permanent hairloss, keloidal scarring, folliculitis , secondary infected dermatitis
